Jessica Simpson's husband, Eric Johnson, is being sued over a car accident where he allegedly caused "serious" injuries to the other driver.

According to legal documents, obtained by The Blast, a man named Anthony Pena claims that Johnson caused a nasty car accident on March 18, 2022. In the filing, Pena says the two cars collided in Los Angeles, and it "occurred through no fault of (Pena), but rather, was caused entirely by Johnson."

Interestingly, the lawsuit says Johnson was "distracted" at the time of the accident and was "aware of the probable dangerous consequences of driving an automobile, but disregarded those dangers and chose to drive nonetheless, in conscious disregard of the safety of others."

Weirdly, the driver claims he was positioned behind Johnson during the accident. Typically, anyone who rear-ends another person on the road is almost always held responsible for the crash. Details of how Jessica's husband might have caused the accident are not included in the suit.

Pena says claims he is now suffering from "serious and permanent injuries" due to the incident.

In the suit, the driver says Johnson caused him to "suffer serious and ongoing personal injuries and great physical, mental, and emotional pain and suffering." Plus, he is asking for a minimum of $25,000 in damages which include "future medical costs, treatment, and rehabilitation, loss of income, wages, and earning potential."

The couple appears to be going strong after Jessica celebrated Eric's 42nd birthday, saying on Instagram, "Without a doubt, I know that God created and shaped you to be my purest love, truest companion, my forever person, my ALL in everything, my every day and night answered prayer before I even knew the words to speak."

She continued, "The gift of life began with your first breath to bring forth my purpose to be brought into this life. I truly was born to love you."

Jessica included a new family photo, with the caption, "As a child, I talked to God asking for you and you found me when my heart least expected eternal intimacy. I am graced to be living within your soul and you within mine until the end of time. At this point, Johnson hasn't responded to the car accident lawsuit, and there have been no media stories published regarding the crash.
