Fans of martial arts icon and The Expendables star Jet Li were left worrying for the actor's wellbeing after a photo emerged over the weekend of him looking 'frail'.

Users on Twitter expressed concern upon seeing the pictures, while others refused to believe it was even him.

However, the star's manager, Steven Chasman, has spoken to multiple publications to assure fans that there is nothing worry about, and the fuss over the picture is "much ado about nothing".

"We appreciate everyone's concern," he told USA Today. "But Jet is completely fine. There's nothing wrong with him.

"There's no life-threatening illness. He's in great shape.

"It's one picture and people are making these interpretations from it. If you took a picture me at the wrong angle and wrong time of the day, I could look frail as well."

Chasman also told The Washington Post that: "[Jet] has hyperthyroidism that he's been dealing with for almost 10 years. It's nothing life-threatening and he's dealing with it."

Li revealed back in 2013 that he had been dealing with an overactive thyroid for at least three years by that point. The condition meant that his heart rate was higher than the majority of people's and he had to take medication and avoid exercise in order to control it.

With The Expendables 4 due to shoot later this year, we'll have to wait and see whether Li will return to the franchise.
