It's Joanna Gaines's 40th birthday, and to celebrate, Chip Gaines wants to surprise his pregnant wife with a somewhat unusual gift. The Fixer Upper star and self-proclaimed "Twitter nerd" took to the social media platform to ask his fans for a favor.

"This is sooo superficial & DUMB, but.. I'd really like to see @joannagaines hit 1M followers on her bday. Kindof a #Twitterverse gift to her.."

Even sweeter is the incentive: "One more thing, for every new follower she gets today. I'll donate 1$ to @StJude," Chip continued. "GO!"

It may seem like a lot, but 1 million is perfectly attainable for the Behind the Design host, who is currently expecting her fifth baby, a boy. As of the time of this post, the birthday girl had 994,000 followers (for comparison, her costar husband has 834,000)-meaning if she reaches her goal, Chip will donate around $6,000 to the children's research hospital.

This isn't the first time Chip has rallied his devotees for a charitable cause. In November, he vowed to cut off inches of his hair in exchange for St. Jude donations. The idea proved so effective, he wound up with a cleanly shaven head.

And following the Fixer Upper episode featuring a family with two wheelchair-bound kids, Chip and the Tim Tebow Foundation asked viewers to donate and were able to pay off their mortgage in full.

It's safe to say Joanna's in for a good birthday. Early this morning, Chip also tweeted "Happy birthday sweet girl," with the hashtag "#40neverLookedSoGood," and hundreds of fans echoed the sentiment.

Joanna then posted a photo of her biggest baby bump yet with the caption "This is 40. And I like it..."

This is 40. And I like it... #pregnantandforty #anddoughnuts

And to mark the milestone, their company, Magnolia Market, is offering 20 percent off of 40 items with the promo code "FORTY."

Happy birthday, Joanna!
