John Krasinski's awkward encounter with a blunt customs agent
On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, John Krasinski talked about visiting his wife and A Quiet Place co-star, Emily Blunt, when he ran into a surly customs agent in London. The agent obviously didn’t know who Krasinski was and, after this encounter, would probably like to forget him. It started when the agent saw that Krasinski’s an actor and asked if he’d know him from anything.
“We redid the UK version of The Office,” Krasinski replied. The agent was not happy about that, but it only got worse when Krasinski mentioned his lovely wife. He recounted the conversation with the agent saying, “He says, ‘Who are you visiting here?’ I said, ‘My wife.’ And he says, ‘Is she an actress?’ I said, ‘Yeah.’ He said, ‘Would I know her?’ I went, ‘I don’t know, man, her name is Emily Blunt.’ He seriously goes, ‘You?’”
According to Krasinski, after the agent made sure he’d heard him correctly, that Blunt had actually married him, the agent furiously stamped him through and told him to “just go.”
