John Legend is taking on an unexpected new project, all for a good cause.

Kiehl's announced on Monday, March 25, that it partnered with the EGOT-winning musician to release a limited edition version of its popular Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Masque. The new Kiehl's Made Better x John Legend Limited Edition Rare Earth Mask comes in a travel-size jar redesigned by Legend himself and is available today on the Kiehl's website.

"Kiehl’s has been making wonderful products for years, and I’m glad they’re making a real effort to make those products more responsibly and sustainably," Legend said. "Every organization and individual needs to think about ways to contribute to a healthier world."

"We wanted to select a product that already has a cult following behind it, and that’s loved by both women and men. In addition to loving the formula itself -- nothing has ever made my skin feel so clean! -- I was also really inspired by the story behind the main ingredient of the mask formula, Amazonian White Clay, which is fairly traded and collected by local families near the Amazonian River in Northern Brazil. Through a long-term partnership, Kiehl’s provides economic support to the community."

The Legend-designed container is made with 30 percent post-consumer recycled plastic, and its top label is made with 100 percent recycled materials.

As part of the collaboration, Kiehl's Since 1851 agreed to donate 100 percent of the product's net profit in the US up to $25,000 to the Earth Day Network, which will support the organization's Great Global Cleanup planned for Earth Day 2019, Monday, April 22.

The Kiehl's Made Better x John Legend Limited Edition Rare Earth Mask is available now on the Kiehl's website and hits stores on April 1.
