CORK, Ireland (AP) _ Johnson Controls International PLC (JCI) on Wednesday reported fiscal second-quarter earnings of $515 million.
The Cork, Ireland-based company said it had profit of 57 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted to account for discontinued operations, were 32 cents per share.
The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 30 cents per share.
The diversified technology and industrial company posted revenue of $5.78 billion in the period, which fell short of Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $5.79 billion.
Johnson Controls expects full-year earnings in the range of $1.85 to $1.95 per share.
Johnson Controls shares have increased 26% since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index has risen 18%. The stock has climbed 11% in the last 12 months.
