July Auto Sales: Chrysler

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (AP) -- Chrysler Group LLC said Thursday that its July U.S. sales rose 11 percent, led by the Ram pickup and Jeep Grand Cherokee large SUV.

BY THE NUMBERS: The Auburn Hills, Mich.-based automaker said it sold 140,102 cars and trucks last month, up from 126,089 a year earlier.

TOP SELLERS: Ram pickup sales were up 31 percent to 31,314. Grand Cherokee sales increased 30 percent to 15,019.

HOT MODELS: Ram Cargo van sales rose 38 percent to 764, a sign that businesses are back in the market. Jeep Patriot small SUV sales were up 29 percent to 7,572.
