While that glorious four-day Easter weekend may already feel like a distant dream, we're still eager to hear about how the royals spent their break. We already know, thanks to some delightful new photos that have been shared, that the Queen and Prince Charles were able to meet for a stroll amongst some splendid scenery – and now, the Cambridge's plans have also been revealed.

As you might imagine with three young children in the house to entertain, it sounds as though the family were as busy as ever keeping the kids amused... and what better way to do that than with a spot of arts and crafts? Something we already know George, Charlotte and Louis are fans of.

This time around, according to an Us Weekly source, Prince William and Kate Middleton’s three children had a "fun" day surprising their great-grandparents (Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip) "with personalised Easter eggs, which they made and decorated themselves". How cute!

The source also added that the Duchess of Cambridge spent some time baking "a delicious chocolate cake covered in mini Cadbury eggs" (the whole family are fans of Mary Berry, so perhaps it was one of her recipes!) and that everybody later partook in an Easter egg hunt.

Getting to eat so many chocolate-based treats is believed to have been something of a special rarity for the children, as the source said, "[The Duke and Duchess] don’t allow George, Charlotte, and Louis to have chocolate and sweets every day, so it was a real treat."

Given that it's the school Easter holidays at the moment too, the source was also quoted as saying, "[Kate] has been busy keeping them entertained... [with] family bike rides, playing tennis, and George and Charlotte are taking horse riding lessons. Charlotte is obsessed with horses, just like her great-grandmother. It’s her favourite activity." As we mentioned - sounds like they're just as busy as ever!

Meanwhile, Prince William's cousin, Princess Eugenie (who recently welcomed her first child into the world, a son named August) also had what looks like a special family-filled Easter break. The Princess shared a photo of her, her husband Jack Brooksbank and August looking super smiley under a beautifully blossoming tree.

P.S. Err, if there's any of that chocolate cake left, Kate, feel free to send it our way?
