Katie Holmes Sells Calabasas Home for $4 Million

Katie Holmes has officially found a buyer for her Calabasas home just three months after putting it on the market. The actress, who currently stars in horror flick Brahms: The Boy II, originally listed the Tudor-inspired contemporary for $4.625 million in November. The final selling price, according to the Los Angeles Times, was a little over $4 million.

Set on a half-acre lot on a quiet cul-de-sac, the main home has five bedrooms, and there's also a separate one-bedroom guest casita on the property. The sun-lit main dwelling, which spans roughly 6,000 square feet, has dark wood floors contrasting elegantly against bright white walls and French windows. A double-height, vaulted entryway gives way to a lofted library accessible up a set of stairs; around the corner, the home opens onto a great room comprising living, dining, and kitchen spaces. The living room features a massive fireplace that runs from floor-to-ceiling, and the chef’s kitchen features dark cabinetry and both a center island and a peninsula. There are three ovens.

Up a flight of stairs to the second floor is an upstairs landing that can easily be converted into a second living room/lounge space, with a set of double French doors leading out onto an outdoor balcony. The master suite, similarly, has its own private balcony with stunning canyon views and plenty of space, as well as a spa-style marble bathroom with a deep-soaking tub and a huge walk-in closet.

Despite all the delights of the home’s interior, however, the backyard is undoubtedly a highlight, with a large pool abutted by a unique sunken firepit lounge area at one end and an elevated spa on the other side. A heated, covered loggia and an outdoor kitchen are also excellent entertaining spaces, and there's also a basketball half-court. Holmes originally purchased the home in 2014 for $3.795 million.
