Green Mountain Coffee Roasters showed off the K-Carafe capabilities for its new Keurig 2.0 system, which can make a single cup as well as a full pot. The system will be available this fall. Analysts have been expecting the announcement for a while, but the timing was earlier than expected, according to a KeyBanc analyst. He said surveys of non-Keurig users showed the inability to brew more than 1 cup at a time was the main reason for not owning a Keurig, after cost. He expects the new system to draw in a "broader set of consumers and has the ability to increase the attachment rate." Green Mountain Coffee Roasters (GMCR) shares fell 1%.
