MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- The authority that will manage the new Minnesota Vikings stadium has confirmed that some fans wanting a season ticket will have to first pay for a personal seat license.
Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority Chairwoman Michele Kelm-Helgen told a panel of state lawmakers that the fee structure would be announced later Thursday when the authority meets in Minneapolis to approve two stadium agreements.
The Vikings must come up with $477 million in private funds toward the $975 million stadium, and the seat licenses are one avenue they will use. The agreements don't cap what the Vikings can charge for the actual admissions tickets.
Kelm-Helgen says the Vikings will pay the authority $8.5 million in annual rent and put $1.5 million into a capital improvement fund.
