Kim Kardashian Shares First Baby Update: 'The Connection Came Instantly'
Days after welcoming her third child to the world, Kim Kardashian has delighted fans with her first update on life as a new mother to a baby girl.
Welcoming a healthy girl born on Monday via a 'gestational carrier' with her husband Kanye West, Kardashian wrote on her website: 'The connection with our baby came instantly and it's as if she was with us the whole time. We are so excited to finally welcome home our baby girl.'
In the post, titled The Truth About My Pregnancy, the 36-year-old social media mogul opened up to her fans about her decision to use a surrogate.
'I have always been really honest about my struggles with pregnancy,' she wrote.
'Pre-eclampsia and placenta accreta are high-risk conditions, so when I wanted to have a third baby, doctors said that it wasn't safe for my-or the baby's-health to carry on my own.'
The star also explained why her and West decided to use a gestational carrier - a woman who has no biological relationship to the child.
'Having a gestational carrier is definitely different, but anyone who says or thinks it's the easy way out is completely wrong,' she commented.
