New website provides you with online cooking classes that fight global hunger
New York, NY / myprgenie.com / ACCESSWIRE / September 23, 2014 / KitchenConnection.org is an online platform that connects individuals wanting to learn how to cook a specific dish with chefs of all backgrounds who are willing to teach them via a live video session. KitchenConnection has joined forces with Action Against Hunger International and in their fight against hunger, one delicious recipe at a time. Part or all of the proceeds from each live interaction can be donated to the respective food organization.
KitchenConnection will be launching its invite-only beta version at a pre-launch event in New York City. In honor of World Food Day and International Chef's Day, the event will take place on October 21st, 2014, when it will 'take its foodies to France'. The site will be showcased through a live cooking experience with a French Master Chef from the prestigious chef's association, Maitres Cuisiniers de France.
The website will feature both professional chefs and lay cooks from around the world with a passion for food and the desire to share that passion with other foodies. Cheffies, as the site distinctly labels their instructors, may be culinary students, restaurateurs, retirees, 5-star chefs, or anyone with a special dish or unique recipe who wishes to connect through food. Each Cheffie will have his own profile page where his specialty dishes, cooking credentials, languages spoken and interests can all be showcased. Once a visitor selects a chef's dish, he can schedule a time during which the chef will go step-by-step through the dish's instructions by way of live video chats.
KitchenConnection.org will begin granting registrations for its sign-ups on the page after the event and will remain in private Beta until it opens to the public at an undisclosed time.
At the moment, KitchenConnection is finalizing its partnership with the Maitres Cuisiniers de France, members of the American Culinary Federation, and the World Association of Chefs Societies, among other professional chef associations. Some of these chefs will take part in the live demonstration session for the site's beta testing.
Founder, Earlene Cruz, thought of the venture while studying abroad on a ship through the program Semester at Sea. Right before porting in Ghana, she lost her wallet with all of her money. Her plans to CouchSurf there led her to a home-stay with a family that graciously housed her and fed her for the week that she was in Ghana. Eating the delicious red-red stew with her hands on their living room floor led her to want to virtually recreate the experience, hence the premise for KitchenConnection.

ABOUT KitchenConnection - www.KitchenConnection.org
"Where Food Links the World"
The mission of KitchenConnection is to alleviate global hunger by creating a hub for recipe exchange, education, and global connection through food. The aim is to connect 'global foodies' through a virtually interactive platform that allows them not only to meet, interact with, and learn from fellow members but also to work together to create meals, sit down together, and ultimately contribute to their global family through the revenue generated, without even leaving their homes. Food - its preparation, consumption, and distribution - is the most ubiquitous human experience, which is at the core of the alleviation of global hunger.
