KLA-Tencor Earnings, Revenue Beat in Q2

Investing.com - KLA-Tencor (NASDAQ:KLAC) reported on Tuesday second quarter earnings that beat analysts' forecasts and revenue that topped expectations.

KLA-Tencor announced earnings per share of $2.66 on revenue of $1.51B. Analysts polled by Investing.com anticipated EPS of $2.58 on revenue of $1.48B. That with comparison to EPS of $2.44 on revenue of $1.12B in the same period a year before. KLA-Tencor had reported EPS of $2.48 on revenue of $1.41B in the previous quarter. Analysts are expecting EPS of $2.46 and revenue of $1.42B in the upcoming quarter.

KLA-Tencor shares are down 2% from the beginning of the year , still down 3.19% from its 52 week high of $184.50 set on January 24. They are under-performing the S&P 500 which is up 1.65% year to date.

KLA-Tencor shares gained 0.77% in after-hours trade after the report.

KLA-Tencor follows other major Technology sector earnings this month

KLA-Tencor's report follows an earnings beat by Apple on January 28, who reported EPS of $4.99 on revenue of $91.82B, compared to forecasts EPS of $4.54 on revenue of $88.51B.

Microsoft had beat expectations on January 29 with second quarter EPS of $1.51 on revenue of $36.91B, compared to forecast for EPS of $1.05 on revenue of $32,512M.
