KLA-Tencor: Fiscal 4Q Earnings Snapshot

MILPITAS, Calif. (AP) _ KLA-Tencor Corp. (KLAC) on Monday reported fiscal fourth-quarter earnings of $348.8 million.

On a per-share basis, the Milpitas, California-based company said it had net income of $2.22.

The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $2.14 per share.

The maker of equipment for manufacturing semiconductors posted revenue of $1.07 billion in the period, which also beat Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.05 billion.

For the year, the company reported profit of $802.3 million, or $5.10 per share. Revenue was reported as $4.04 billion.

KLA-Tencor shares have climbed 1 percent since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index has climbed roughly 5 percent. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $106.30, a climb of 13 percent in the last 12 months.
