MILPITAS, Calif. (AP) _ KLA-Tencor Corp. (KLAC) on Monday reported fiscal fourth-quarter earnings of $217.8 million.
The Milpitas, California-based company said it had profit of $1.35 per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were $1.78 per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.71 per share.
The maker of equipment for manufacturing semiconductors posted revenue of $1.26 billion in the period, which also topped Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.25 billion.
For the year, the company reported profit of $1.18 billion, or $7.49 per share. Revenue was reported as $4.57 billion.
KLA-Tencor shares have climbed 41% since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index has risen 13%. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $126.46, a rise of roughly 6% in the last 12 months.
