PHOENIX (AP) _ Knight-Swift Transportation Holdings Inc. (KNX) on Tuesday reported fourth-quarter net income of $151.7 million.
The Phoenix-based company said it had net income of 86 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 93 cents per share.
The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 92 cents per share.
The trucking company posted revenue of $1.39 billion in the period, which missed Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.45 billion.
For the year, the company reported profit of $419.3 million, or $2.36 per share. Revenue was reported as $5.34 billion.
For the current quarter ending in April, Knight-Swift expects its per-share earnings to range from 52 cents to 55 cents.
Knight-Swift shares have increased 20 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has decreased 36 percent in the last 12 months.
