Leading global producer of engineered polymers, Kraton Performance Polymers Inc. (KRA) announced that it will feature NEXAR polymer coatings at Techtextil, to be held from June 11-13 in Frankfurt, Germany. NEXAR polymers offer a new set of features and benefits for water transport, filtration and separation.
NEXAR polymer's moisture activated cooling technology has been geared to use the body’s natural sweating process to stimulate an active cooling process. As moisture is absorbed from the skin surface, the NEXAR polymer inflates and blends with the moisture, which, when released to the environment, provides a cooling effect that surpasses other technologies. Unlike other technologies, NEXAR polymer coatings do not need complicated fiber or fabric construction and do not depend on a thermally activated process.
Kraton aims to make the leaders of textile industry aware of NEXAR’s commercial success and how it creates new opportunities for use as a coating, laminate, or additive. According to Kraton, NEXAR is suitable for the performance fabrics markets including protective clothing, industrial uniforms, bedding, military and intimate apparel.
NEXAR polymers and membrane composites have created a high level of interest in a variety of application areas. NEXAR polymers cooling effect has generated excitement within the technical textile markets.
Kraton is among the prominent players in the chemical-plastics industry along with Tredegar Corp. (TG), Westlake Chemical Corp. (WLK) and A. Schulman, Inc. (SHLM). It is a leading global producer of engineered polymers and offers about 800 products to more than 700 customers in over 60 countries worldwide.
Kraton currently retains a short-term Zacks Rank #5 (Strong Sell).
