Sports have an amazing way of connecting fans to the players they idolize and root for.

Take 92-year-old Alvena Chance, for example. She considers herself to be one of the biggest supporters of the Toronto Raptors, with her favourite player being Kyle Lowry.

After the long-time Raptor found out about Chance and her loyalty to the team, he made sure to send her a thank-you package - which included a signed photo and jersey from the star.

But that wasn’t all. The NBA champion also recorded a personalized message for her.

Certainly a very classy gesture and a great way to treat someone who is such a big fan of the squad.

Chance, who also lives with dementia, was understandably a little overwhelmed by the whole thing. But, her family said that once everything calms down, she’ll have a greater appreciation for it all.

Given the fact that it is the NBA off-season, Lowry was not in the Toronto area to see her in person. The family has left the door open for a visit though, letting it be known that No. 7 is more than welcome to stop by when the new season kicks off.
