L1 Capital, an investment management firm, published its ‘L1 Capital International Fund’ third quarter 2021 investor letter – a copy of which can be downloaded here. A quarterly net return of 3.7% was recorded by the fund in the second quarter of 2021, compared to the benchmark return of 3.9% You can take a look at the fund’s top 5 holdings to have an idea about their best picks for 2021.

L1 Capital, in its Q3 2021 investor letter, mentioned Louisiana-Pacific Corporation (NYSE: LPX) and discussed its stance on the firm. Louisiana-Pacific Corporation is a Nashville, Tennessee-based building company with a $5.8 billion market capitalization. LPX delivered a 78.97% return since the beginning of the year, while its 12-month returns are up by 98.58%. The stock closed at $66.81 per share on November 15, 2021.

"We reinvested the proceeds from the partial sale of Eagle Materials by increasing the Fund’s position in Louisiana-Pacific Corporation. We expect the company to deliver strong earnings and cashflow over coming years, and the company remains undervalued at its current share price."
