Lady Gaga apologizes to Jimmy Fallon over awkward interview, calls Tim Cook for coronavirus donation

Lady Gaga is having an interview do-over with Jimmy Fallon after an awkward appearance on a previous episode.

On Wednesday, Fallon called the songstress to hear about a coronavirus-related project she was working on, but Gaga wasn't quite ready for the reveal.

"I can't talk right now, I'm really sorry," she said over a FaceTime call. "Can we just move our time? … I promise I'll do it Monday."

Fallon agreed between laughs. "Oh my goodness, you are the busiest person," he said.

As promised, Gaga appeared on the show again Monday and had an apology for the late-night host about the ordeal.

"I'm so sorry," Gaga said. "We weren't quite ready yet, and I really appreciate you being so nice about it, and thank you. I love you, I love your viewers, and everyone at home watching. I just wish everybody well."

During the episode she announced the participants in “One World: Together At Home,” a televised event she organized with advocacy organization Global Citizen aimed at fighting the coronavirus.

She also called up Apple CEO Tim Cook to ask about him donating $10 million to the World Health Organization's COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund.

"I don't know if he knows he's going to be on TV just yet but we're going to FaceTime him and find out," she smiled.

After hellos, Gaga got down to business.

"We spoke last night about a certain number for the donation and it was quite sizable and I just wanted to make sure we were OK on that this morning, " she said. "Can I confirm you for that donation?"

He replied, "You can confirm me. We're so proud to be a part of this."

Gaga cheered at the news and Fallon applauded with a big smile.

"You just helped a lot of people," she said. "You just helped a lot of people."

Gaga announced Monday that she and Global Citizen have raised $35 million to fight the coronavirus and will launch the TV special featuring Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder and Billie Eilish. She said the money was raised in seven days and will benefit The World Health Organization.

“One World: Together At Home" will air April 18 at 8 p.m. ET simultaneously on ABC, NBC, CBS, iHeartMedia and Bell Media networks.
