Largest option buying in equities

Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the individual equity names with the most call and put buying on optionMONSTER's ActionTracker data system.

Petrobras (PBR): Some 20,000 October 15 calls were purchased, mostly for $0.40, as investors look for the Brazilian energy stock to rebound from a long-term selloff. PBR fell 0.91 percent to $13.08.

KLA-Tencor (KLAC): A block of 6,700 September 60 calls were bought for $2.75 and 6,700 September 65 calls were sold for $0.90. Known as a call spread, it cost $1.85 and will earn a maximum profit of 170 percent on a move to $65. KLAC rose 0.25 percent to $60.08. (See related story )

Quicksilver (ZQK): Some 12,000 January 6 puts were bought for $0.45 and $0.50 as investors look for the shares to fall into early 2014. ZQK fell 2.12 percent to $6.92. (See related story )
