Largest option buying in equities so far

Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the individual equity names with the most call and put buying on optionMONSTER's ActionTracker data system.

JP Morgan (JPM): More than 10,000 January 45 calls were purchased for $0.52 to $0.55 as investors look for the financial giant to rally. JPM fell 0.37 percent to $43.08.

EMC (EMC): An investor bought 5,000 July 25 puts for $2.12 and sold an equal number of July 26 calls for $1.62, positioning for downside in the cloud-computing stock. EMC rose 0.20 percent to $24.88.

Oracle (ORCL): Some 7,500 June 35 calls were purchased for $1.40, but volume was far below open interest at the strike. ORCL fell 0.03 percent to $33.01.

Facebook (FB): Some 5,900 June 24 puts were bought, mostly for $2.25, as an investor sought protection in the social-networking stock. FB is up 2 percent to $26.42.

Harmony Gold (HMY): Volume surged in the January 9 calls and the January 10 calls as an investor closed a bullish call spread in the name. HMY rose 2.20 percent to 8.82.
