Largest option trades in equities

Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the individual equity names with the most call and put buying on optionMONSTER's ActionTracker data system.

MBIA (MBI): Some 7,500 January 12 calls were bought for $0.35, while 5,000 weekly 11.50 calls expiring this Friday were sold for $0.30 against open interest. That suggests an investor rolled a bullish position higher and increased its size. MBI rose 0.26 percent to $11.79. (See related post on InsideOptions Pro)

Taiwan Semiconductor (TSM): More than 6,000 January 17.50 puts were bought, mostly for $0.65, as traders position for downside in the chip maker. TSM fell 0.38 percent to $17.13. (See related story )

Thermo Fisher Scientific (TMO): Some 3,200 January 105 calls were sold for $5.75 against open interest and 4,000 January 110 calls were bought for $2.40 as an investor rolled a winning trade higher and increased its size. TMO rose 0.55 percent to $110.01. (See related story )
