Las Vegas Is Opening Pop-Up Marriage License Office at the Airport for Valentine’s Day

Vegas, baby! The Clark County Clerk’s Office announced this week that it plans to open a temporary pop-up marriage license office at McCarran International Airport just in time for Valentine’s Day.

In a press release Tuesday, the clerk’s office announced that the new initiative will allow lovebirds to make their love official more quickly during an especially busy season.

“The days around Valentine’s Day and the Presidents Day weekend are always some of our busiest,” Clark County Clerk Lynn Goya said in a statement. “This pop-up marriage license office will make it easier for couples flying here to pick up a marriage license.”

The pop-up office will be located near the baggage claim area in Terminal 1 for just over a week, from February 9 through February 17, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Couple will also still be able to obtain marriage licenses at the Marriage License Bureau main office at 201 E. Clark St. in downtown Las Vegas.

According to the release, the Clark County Clerk’s Office issues about 80,000 marriages licenses a year and is considered the busiest in the nation. Of those licenses, about 1,500 marriage licenses are typically issued in the days leading up to and including Valentine’s Day.

For spouses-to-be hoping to further speed through the marriage process, the Clark County Clerk encourages couples to fill out a marriage license pre-application online at www.ClarkCountyNV.gov. This way, all couples will need to do upon visiting the pop-up office is present their issued reference number and a valid form of identification.

The cost? Couples will be expected to fork over $77 for marriage licenses. The pop-up offices will accept credit card payments, the statement reads.
