SAN DIEGO (AP) -- Leap Wireless International Inc., the parent of the Cricket cellphone service, on Monday said it has appointed a former Weather Channel executive, Jerry Elliott, as chief financial officer effective May 1.
San Diego-based Leap's last CFO, Walter Berger, left in February for the same job at SoftLayer Technologies Inc., a Dallas-based data center operator.
Elliott was most recently CFO and chief administrative officer of The Weather Channel Cos. Before that, he was CFO of Virgin Media Inc. He has also been CFO of phone company Frontier Communications.
