LeBron James is going Hollywood again. No, there aren’t any Los Angeles Lakers rumors to propagate. Instead, this is about James’ first foray into animation on the big screen.

On Tuesday, James tweeted the character poster for his upcoming role in Warner Bros. studios’ “Smallfoot” as the voice of a hairy, purple yeti named Gwangi. According to the synopsis on IMDB, the film, due to be released in theaters next September, revolves around a yeti who’s convinced elusive creatures known as “humans” really do exist.

There’s another way to read this. James is announcing he’ll be starring in an animated film for Warner Bros. that won’t be a “Space Jam” sequel. This is the dunk contest disappointment all over again.

On second thought, this could be a role he was born to play. If you look a little closer, James’ character bares a striking resemblance to someone.

Can’t put your finger on it?

James is an NBA legend, but he’s also becoming a media giant through the SpringHill Entertainment production company he heads with business partner Maverick Carter. In addition to his Starz series, “Survivors Remorse,” which wrapped its fourth and final season in October, James is also an executive producer for “Space Jam 2.”

James also received acclaim for his supporting role as himself alongside Bill Hader and Amy Schumer in 2015’s “Trainwreck.” The IMDB page for “Smallfoot” also lists Channing Tatum, Zendaya, Danny DeVito, James Corden and Common among the cast of voices.
