New Developments Boost Margins

Lennar reported third-quarter profit of $0.40 a share, beating the $0.28 expected by analysts. Revenue of $1.10 billion also beat the $1.05 billion consensus number. Management cited better margins and strong orders for new homes. LEN climbs 4 percent before the bell on my tradeMONSTER platform.

Questcor Plunges on Government Investigation

Questcor Pharmaceuticals announced that the federal government is investigating its promotional practices. The news comes just days after the stock got crushed on worries about whether health insurers will reimburse for its main drug. QCOR falls another 18 percent in early trading today.

Facebook Falls on Barron's Article

Facebook got a negative write-up in Barron's over the weekend, with the magazine concluding that the social-networking company still isn't a buy because of its high multiples and unclear business model. FB drops 4 percent before the bell.
