Ms. Chapman-Henderson received the award on the opening day of the annual gathering of hurricane experts.
Chapman-Henderson is a nationally-respected advocate for building codes and beyond-code innovation and advances the cause of disaster resilience by creating innovative collaborations with public, private, and nonprofit organizations. Her experience and expertise span creative, technical, and public policy initiatives from delivery of the award-winning, 4-D "edu-tainment" experience, StormStruck: A Tale of Two Homes® at Epcot® to the award-winning National Hurricane Resilience Initiative - #HurricaneStrong . Since 1998, her leadership has grown the FLASH partnership as well as the disaster resilience movement overall.
