In the wake of Monday’s news of Lethal Weaponstar Clayne Crawford having a history of bad behavior on set, the actor took to Instagram saying that “yesterday’s headlines were incredibly distressing” and to clarify the news which Deadline broke.

“It is true that I have been reprimanded twice during this past season of Lethal Weapon,”  admitted Crawford in the lengthy Instagram post. “The first reprimand was because I reacted with anger over working conditions that did not feel safe or conducive to good work under the leadership of a guest director and assistant director who, in turn, were angry at my response.”

As a result of the first incident, he apologized and completed studio therapy. He also said that he “shared a sizable portion of my paycheck with one of the parties involved per the instruction of the studio.”

The second incident occurred when he was directing an episode and a piece of shrapnel hit an actor on set during an effect. He said he took responsibility for the incident because he was in charge on the set.

In the post, Crawford apologizes and praises the cast and crew of Lethal Weapon and says that he “would never intentionally jeopardize so many jobs.”

“I am incredibly sorry if my passion for doing good work has ever made anyone feel less than comfortable on our set, or feel less than celebrated for their efforts,” he adds. “Furthermore, I apologize to all the crew and cast for any negative attention Lethal Weapon is receiving because of these incidents.”
