Stanford had one last try to get in position for a game-tying field goal at least but QB Keller Chryst threw an interception on the first play. Somewhat inexplicably, Chryst threw a deep jump ball and it was picked off by Kameron Kelly.

Chryst was just 9-20 passing for 72 yards and threw two interceptions. Meanwhile, Stanford running back Bryce Love had 13 carries for 184 yards and two touchdowns. It’s the Cardinal’s second-straight loss. USC beat Stanford in Week 2.

On the other side, San Diego State improved to 3-0 and will surely be ranked next week. Rashaad Penny, who entered the weekend second in the country in rushing yards, had 175 yards and a touchdown in the win.

Insert your own joke about Pac-12 After Dark turning into Pac-12 In the Dark here.

The power to the stadium wasn’t out completely, though. The scoreboard was still on and CBS Sports Network was able to continue its broadcast. But as stadium officials searched for the reason for the problem, the teams had to wait around to get the game back going.
