TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) _ Limelight Networks Inc. (LLNW) on Wednesday reported a first-quarter loss of $8.6 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.
On a per-share basis, the Tempe, Arizona-based company said it had a loss of 7 cents. Losses, adjusted for stock option expense, came to 4 cents per share.
The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 1 cent per share.
The network services company posted revenue of $43.3 million in the period, also missing Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $44.6 million.
Limelight Networks expects full-year earnings in the range of 10 cents to 20 cents per share, with revenue in the range of $215 million to $225 million.
In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, the company's shares hit $3.12. A year ago, they were trading at $4.06.
