Lionsgate CEO extends contract

SANTA MONICA, Calif. (AP) -- Lionsgate said Monday that CEO Jon Feltheimer signed a new contract that extends his time with the entertainment company through 2018.

Feltheimer has been CEO of the company for 13 years, helping develop it into a leading film and television company.

Lionsgate said that its market capitalization has increased from $80 million to nearly $4 billion during Feltheimer's tenure as CEO.

The company also said that Vice Chairman Michael Burns, Co-Chief Operating Officers Steve Beeks and Brian Goldsmith and General Counsel and Chief Strategic Officer Wayne Levin have all signed new long-term agreements with the company during the past year.

Lionsgate currently has 28 television shows on 20 networks, including popular shows such as "Mad Men."

Shares of Lions Gate Entertainment Corp. slipped 8 cents to $28.72 by midmorning.
