CHICAGO (AP) _ Littelfuse Inc. (LFUS) on Wednesday reported a fourth-quarter loss of $10.8 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.
The Chicago-based company said it had a loss of 48 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for pretax expenses and costs related to mergers and acquisitions, were $1.81 per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.67 per share.
The circuit protection manufacturer posted revenue of $304.8 million in the period, also surpassing Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $298.3 million.
For the year, the company reported profit of $119.5 million, or $5.21 per share. Revenue was reported as $1.22 billion.
For the current quarter ending in April, Littelfuse expects its per-share earnings to range from $1.73 to $1.87.
The company said it expects revenue in the range of $384 million to $396 million for the fiscal first quarter.
Littelfuse shares have climbed 5 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has risen 32 percent in the last 12 months.
