Little girl meets Melania Trump dressed in FLOTUS's controversial Hurricane Harvey look

On Monday, the White House opened the South Lawn to “ghosts and goblins of all ages,” according to a statement from the Office of the First Lady.

Trick-or-treaters — children and their parents from the Washington, D.C., area — were greeted at the event by President Donald Trump and Melania Trump, who handed out fresh-baked cookies from the pastry kitchen as well as M&M’s with the presidential seal.

For the occasion, neither POTUS nor FLOTUS wore a costume, but the first lady did wear a $3,290 calf-length Bottega Veneta camel coat paired with black high heels.

Melania’s fashion actually served as inspiration for some in attendance. One girl dressed up as the first lady in her post-“storm stilettos” look, sporting a white button-down shirt, black slacks, and Adidas sneakers. She also pulled her hair back into a ponytail and covered her head with a black baseball cap.

Melania smiled at the girl, which was captured on camera.

Others looked to the Trump administration for costume inspiration as well. A little boy dressed up as the president, and posed next to a headstone that read, “R.I.P. ‘the Swamp,'” alluding to the president’s campaign platform of “draining the swamp.”
