The Russell Microcap® Index is reconstituted each year to maintain an accurate representation of the U.S. microcap universe, with membership in the index conferred for one year. The annual Russell index reconstitution captures the 4,000 largest U.S. stocks as of the end of May, ranking them by total market capitalization. The Russell Microcap® Index measures the performance of the microcap segment of the U.S equity market, a select group of approximately 1,500 U.S. equity shares.
