Principal Financial Group was founded in 1879 and manages assets worth over $655.5 billion (as of Sep 30, 2017) raised all over the globe. It offers investment management strategies and services in 18 countries. The company invests in equities, multi-assets, fixed income real estates and alternative markets.

Principal High Yield A CPHYX seeks to offer growth of income. CPHYX invests a bulk of its assets in below investment rate bonds or high yield bonds future rated Ba1 or lower by Moody's and BB+ or lower by S&P Global. Principal High Yield A has returned 6.6% over the last year.

CPHYX has an expense ratio of 0.91% compared with the category average of 1.02%.

Principal LargeCap Value J PVLJX seeks capital appreciation in the long run. PVLJX invests a minimum of 80% of its assets in equity securities of large-cap companies listed on the Russell 1000 Value Index.  In this index, the market cap of companies ranges between $394.9 million and $634.4 billion. Principal LargeCap Value J has returned 21.6% over the last 12 months.

Principal MidCap S&P 400 Index J PMFJX invests the lion’s share of its assets in equities of mid-cap companies, which are included on the S&P MidCap 400 Index. In this index, the market cap of companies ranges between $952.0 million and $10.5 billion. PMFJX seeks growth of capital in the long run. Principal MidCap S&P 400 Index J has returned 17.6% over the last year.
