Looking for a home: Adoptable pets in Lane County

Greenhill Humane Society

Shrek is a handsome 1-year-old guinea pig with long black and white hair and a silly personality. He weighs 3½ pounds and is a Silkie Satin type guinea pig, which means his fur is long all over and grows in one direction.

He loves chowing down on fresh cilantro and running through his toy tunnels. He is shy at first, but once you earn his trust, he is friendly and talkative. Shrek enjoys sitting on laps and being petted. He especially loves if you massage behind his ears.

He must be adopted to an inside-only home and would do best with older children that can respect his space when he wants it. If you don't have much experience with guinea pigs, that's OK! The team at Greenhill can go over Shrek in more detail and provide lots of resources.

If you are interested in adopting some of our wonderful guinea pigs or just want to learn more about guinea pigs as family pets, call Greenhill for resources.

Greenhill Humane Society is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily at 88530 Green Hill Road in Eugene.

Victor Rose is a handsome gray tabby male kitty about 3 years old with a big personality. He is an athletic boy who enjoys pets and cuddles, playing with toys and greeting you and following you around; he is very interactive and wants to be with his humans.

This affectionate guy would do best as the only cat in a household with cat-savvy humans (occasionally he can become overstimulated).

Oregon Coast Humane Society

Ash is 51 pounds of fun! She's a sweet, sassy and sensitive little girl with the potential to be a great family dog with older, dog-savvy kids.

Her adopters need to provide consistent, patient handling and lots of positive reinforcement when she makes good choices.

As with any young, athletic dog, she'll need plenty of exercise to be her best self.
