Los Angeles Regional Food Bank to Receive Hunger Is Donations Made at Local Albertsons Stores

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 6, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- The Los Angeles Regional Food Bank is excited to be selected as a charity partner for Albertsons Companies Foundation to receive donations from the annual Hunger Is campaign to eradicate childhood hunger. All donations made at local Albertsons stores will be used to support the Food Bank's Children's Breakfast Program, which provides breakfast kits for children from food-insecure households.

This critical program, which now serves more than 2,000 children, has been in operation for three years thanks to Albertsons' committed funding.

The Los Angeles Regional Food Bank works with more than 600 partner agencies throughout Los Angeles County in order to distribute more than 1 million pounds of food every week to people facing hunger.

Hunger Is, a charitable program of the Albertsons Companies Foundation, is designed to build awareness and raise funds in an effort to eradicate childhood hunger in America. Funds raised through Hunger Is focus on adding breakfasts in and out of school through federal nutrition programs and other means focused on combatting childhood hunger and improving other health-related outcomes.
