‘Love Actually’ Reunion and ‘This Is Us’ Spoilers Highlight Red Nose Day

Red Nose Day ended with a star-studded event featuring the cast from This Is Us, Love Actually, and many others celebrities. Host Chris Hardwick got event started in a not-so-stellar way when he slipped and fell on the rain-covered stage. But he quickly recovered and told Bryan Cranston to stop laughing at him.

The show was filled with fun sketches, like kids wishing for things using “traditional wishing lanterns.” One kid wished for Ben Affleck to speak in his Batman voice, and when Ben obliged, the kid changed his mind and decided he wanted Christian Bale to do it.

Spoiler alert!

The This Is Us cast tried to get people to donate money to the fund, but every time one of them talked, it revealed some ridiculous “spoilers” from the second season. Sterling K. Brown said, “Please donate to Red Nose Day. A lot of kids aren’t as lucky as my character, Randall, who finds out his biological father is alive and is actually his brother.”

Love Actually Reunion

But the bit that people were most excited about (other than donating to a great cause) was the mini Love Actually sequel. Fans got to see what’s going on with their beloved characters 14 years after the movie premiered. David was back dancing at 10 Downing Street. Mark was still making signs but is now married. And Sarah finally got the husband she deserved — Patrick Dempsey! David ended the mini sequel with a passionate speech in front of reporters. One reporter asked, “Prime minister, what do you think is the best Christmas film ever made?” David responded, “Everyone knows it’s Elf.”
