Luka Doncic, Trae Young unanimously selected to NBA All-Rookie team

The first five selections of the 2018 NBA draft made up this season’s NBA All-Rookie team.

Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks and Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks, seemingly in a tight battle for the to-be-announced Rookie of the Year Award, were both unanimous selections to the first-team All-Rookie squad.

Doncic, the third pick, led all rookies in scoring with 21.2 points per game. Young, the fifth pick, wasn’t far behind at 19.1 points per game.

Jackson, the fourth overall pick, received 60 first-team votes and 39 second-team votes. Bagley, the No. 2 pick, received 56 first-team votes and 44 second-team votes.

Ayton, a 7-foot-1 center, averaged 16.3 points and 10.3 rebounds per game. Jackson, before being shut down with a quad injury, averaged 13.8 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. Bagley put up 14.9 points and 7.6 boards per game.

The All-Rookie second team was comprised of Clippers guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Cavaliers guard Collin Sexton, Clippers guard Landry Shamet, Knicks big man Mitchell Robinson and Hawks swingman Kevin Huerter.
