Mac Minis to be made in U.S.

Apple plans to move production of its Mac Mini line of desktop computers to the U.S., according to a report by Taiwanese tech publication DigiTimes. CEO Tim Cook announced Dec. 6 plans to spend $100 mil to build Mac computers in the U.S. in '13, but didn't give details. DigiTimes said the Mac Mini would be built in the U.S. by contract manufacturer Foxconn Electronics using "new automated production lines." Shares rose 0.4%.
