Macau gambling revenue soars

Las Vegas Sands (LVS), MGM Resorts Int'l (MGM) and Wynn Resorts (WYNN) are trying to draw middle-class patrons to their Macau casinos with nongaming attractions. A new report showed revenue continues to come mostly from high-rollers. Macau officials said gaming take climbed 17.6% in Aug. to $3.88 bil amid signs of economic recovery in China. Sands shares rose 2.8%, MGM rose 1.6% and Wynn rose 0.5%.
