TORONTO , May 13, 2020 /CNW/ - Mackenzie Investments today announced changes to the portfolio management team for the Mackenzie Global Small Cap Fund and Mackenzie Global Small Cap Class.
Effective May 19 , portfolio management responsibilities for both funds will be taken on by Phil Taller , Senior Vice-President and Head of the Mackenzie Growth Team, Kalle Huhdanmäki, Vice-President and Portfolio Manager, Mackenzie Investments Europe Ltd., and Bryan Mattei , Vice-President and Portfolio Manager, Mackenzie Investments Asia Ltd.
Mr. Taller, a former Investment Executive "Portfolio Manager of the Year," will focus on managing opportunities in the U.S. Mr. Huhdanmäki, based in Dublin , will focus on European, Middle Eastern and African investments and Hong Kong -based Mr. Mattei will advise on Asia Pacific investments.
The firm also announced that the strategy of the funds will change to reflect the investment style of the new managers. Previously, the funds were managed using a quantitative approach to stock selection and portfolio construction. The new managers will now use a fundamental investment approach, seeking companies with strong management, good growth prospects and attractive financial metrics.
Concurrent with the above changes, the funds' names will be changed to the Mackenzie Global Small-Mid Cap Equity Fund and Mackenzie Global Small-Mid Cap Equity Class.
