HOUSTON (AP) _ Main Street Capital Corp. (MAIN) on Thursday reported second-quarter net income of $38.3 million.
On a per-share basis, the Houston-based company said it had profit of 61 cents. Earnings, adjusted for investment costs, came to 63 cents per share.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 62 cents per share.
The investment firm posted revenue of $61.3 million in the period, meeting Street forecasts.
Main Street Capital shares have climbed 26% since the beginning of the year.
