Malaysia ringgit jumps 2 pct to near 2-month high on Fed surprise

SINGAPORE, Sept 19 (Reuters) - The Malaysian ringgit rose more than 2 percent to hit a near two-month high on Thursday after the Federal Reserve stunned markets and decided not to taper its asset-buying programme just yet.

The ringgit jumped as much as 2.1 percent to 3.1690 per dollar, its strongest since July 24. (Reporting by Jongwoo Cheon; Editing by Shri Navaratnam)
