Man dies when caught in equipment at NE Ind. plant
Worker dies after being caught in equipment at northeastern Indiana steel plant
COLUMBIA CITY, Ind. (AP) -- A coroner says a man has died of multiple blunt-force trauma injuries after being caught in a piece of equipment at a northeastern Indiana steel plant.
Whitley County Coroner F. Randall Dellinger says 44-year-old Jeffery Flory of Albion died in the accident Monday night at the Steel Dynamics plant in Columbia City, about 20 miles west of Fort Wayne.
An investigator from the Indiana Department of Labor has been assigned to investigate Flory's death, as state law requires.
A company spokesman says it's working with the workplace safety officials to determine exactly what happened.
