May Auto Sales: Chrysler

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (AP) -- Chrysler Group LLC said Monday that its May U.S. sales rose 11 percent, led by a strong performance from the Ram pickup.

BY THE NUMBERS: The Auburn Hills, Mich.-based automaker said it sold 166,596 cars and trucks last month, up from 150,041 a year earlier.

TOP SELLERS: Ram pickup sales were up 22 percent to 31,672. Jeep Grand Cherokee sales increased 21 percent to 16,034.

HOT MODELS: Jeep Wrangler sales rose to the highest monthly total ever, 16,272. Jeep Compass small SUV sales rose 42 percent to 5,276.
