PURCHASE, N.Y. (AP) _ MBIA Inc. (MBI) on Wednesday reported a loss of $146 million in its second quarter.
The Purchase, New York-based company said it had a loss of $1.64 per share. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 58 cents per share.
The insurance and reinsurance company posted revenue of $12 million in the period.
MBIA shares have risen 43 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $10.48, a rise of slightly more than 8 percent in the last 12 months.
