It does so with an aim to meet a wider audience thanks to the launch of the first television series to be funded by a cryptocurrency. Also on board to produce "Crypto" is Academy Award winning producer Jonathan Sanger, responsible for such major Hollywood blockbusters as "Vanilla Sky" and "Mission Impossible 2."
"Crypto" (think Billions meets Erin Brockovich), will star a female protagonist and will air on the new streaming platform VEUIT.COM., the first decentralized OTT platform built on blockchain and that will transact its economics in both fiat and cryptocurrency.
What is MBMX?
MBMX is the first, and so far, only cryptocurrency to be backed by two gold and platinum mines in Texas valued at more than 7 billion dollars, giving MBMX a unique stance in the market as one of the only cryptocurrencies backed by a tangible asset.
Launched on the Indian crypto exchange Coinsbit in August 2021, MBMX experienced a soaring rise in value reaching highs of $319 before moving to the American exchange Bitmart, where MBMX rose even further in value to over $1000.
Hollywood Gets on Board
Hollywood's involvement came about when writer/director Mars Callahan recognized not only the potential for investment in MBMX, but also a possible storyline for a new blockbuster series.
"Most cryptocurrencies are backed by code, but when I found out that MBMX was backed by gold, then I became interested," said "Crypto's" Callahan. "I'm embarrassed to say that I missed out on the big Bitcoin boom, and maybe I was dumb to miss it, but I just couldn't bring myself to invest in something that had nothing behind it. But when I found out that there was a cryptocurrency out there backed by real assets, then I finally decided to get involved, and now, ironically, it's become a major storyline in our show."
MBMX is slated to be a substantial plot point in the storyline of "Crypto," which insiders reveal will be a 10-episode, 30-million-dollar scripted series with production due to begin in the summer of 2022. While no names have yet to be mentioned, it is rumored that some of Hollywood biggest stars may be coming together to appear in "Crypto."
"We feel MBMX has the potential to become a household name quite quickly," says Sanger. "In the way that we've seen Federal Express featured in the storyline of the Tom Hanks film 'Castaway' and Caesars Palace in 'The Hangover', I think audiences who gravitate to our show 'Crypto' will have the opportunity to learn more about MBMX, and the world of cryptocurrencies in general, from simply watching our show."
MBMX and "Crypto" are Making History
MBMX's investment in the production of the television series "Crypto" will mark the first time in history that a cryptocurrency has fully funded the production of a major Hollywood television series, but it will likely not be the last, as a growing trend in both Hollywood, and in the world of crypto, may be finding them to be quite compatible dance partners.
Kent Kristensen, founder of MBMX, is enthusiastic about the upcoming TV series.
"It's like a dream come true," said Kristensen. "I have been such a fan of Mr. Sanger's work for so many years now, that when I finally get a chance to work with him, and tell the story of MBMX to millions of people, I have to pinch myself to make sure I'm not dreaming."
Given the success story that MBMX has been, both crypto experts and the creators of the show believe that it will be a special series and a massive hit with viewers. MBMX awaits with interest the announcement of the stars of "Crypto".
